Privacy Policy
Last Updated: February 21, 2026
WaterKick (we’ll call it “the app”) is an iOS utility app from an indie developer (“the developer”). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data for both the app and our website, waterkick.net (“the site”).
Long story short: we take your privacy seriously and only deal with the absolute minimum data needed to make things work.
1. What We Collect (and What We Don’t)
1.1 Data the App Collects
The WaterKick app does not collect or transmit any personally identifiable information. Period.
| Data Type | Collected? | Details |
|---|---|---|
| Name, Email, etc. | ❌ Nope | No account needed. |
| Cleaning History & Stats | 📱 On-Device Only | Saved locally on your device using SwiftData. Never sent anywhere. |
| Microphone Audio | 📱 On-Device Only | Used only for the Water Damage Check. We don’t record, save, or send audio. |
| Location Data | ❌ Nope | We don’t access your location. |
| Device Information | ❌ Nope | We don’t grab your Device ID, UDID, or anything like that. |
| Purchase Info | 🍎 Handled by Apple | In-app purchases are processed by Apple Inc. We never see your payment details. |
1.2 Data Our Website (waterkick.net) Collects
Our website automatically collects a few things to help us improve the site and see how people are using it.
- Access Logs: Your IP address, browser type, when you visited, and what pages you looked at.
- Cookies: Used to make the site work better and for analytics (like Google Analytics).
This is all just statistical data to see what’s popular; we don’t use it to figure out who you are.
2. How We Use the Microphone
Our “Water Damage Check” feature needs to use your device’s microphone to measure your speaker’s performance.
Here’s the deal with the mic:
• We only use the mic while the check is running. The second it’s done, we stop.
• We don’t record any audio.
• Nothing the mic picks up ever leaves your phone.
• The app only analyzes the sound wave’s amplitude in real-time. That’s it.
• We’ll always ask for your permission first, following standard iOS rules.
3. Data Storage and Management
Any data the app creates—like your cleaning history, stats, or settings—is stored right on your device. Nowhere else.
- Your data is saved locally using Apple’s SwiftData framework.
- It’s never sent to an external server.
- If you delete the app, all its data gets deleted automatically.
- This data might be included in your iCloud backups, but that’s all based on your own iCloud settings.
4. Third-Party Services
4.1 Apple (App Store & In-App Purchases)
Upgrading to WaterKick PRO is handled through Apple Inc.’s in-app purchase system. Apple manages all the payment info, and we never get access to your specific payment details. For the full scoop, you can check out Apple’s Privacy Policy.
4.2 Google Analytics (On Our Website)
We use Google Analytics to understand traffic on our website. It uses cookies to gather info about how you use the site, but it doesn’t collect anything that personally identifies you. You can learn more at Google’s Privacy Policy.
5. About Ads
The free version of our app shows a banner ad. We use Google AdMob for this, which might use some device info or your App Tracking Transparency (ATT) status to show you more relevant ads.
You’re in control—you can allow or deny tracking in your iOS Settings. If you deny it, you’ll still see ads, they just won’t be personalized.
Want to get rid of ads completely? Just upgrade to the PRO version.
6. Children’s Privacy
The app is rated 4+ on the App Store, so it’s fine for kids. Since we don’t collect any personal data in the first place, there are no special privacy risks for children.
7. Deleting Your Data
If you want to wipe the app’s data, here’s how:
- In-App Data: Just uninstall the app from your device. That’s it—all its data will be deleted automatically.
- In-App Purchase Subscriptions: You can manage or cancel these in your iOS device’s “Settings” → “[Your Apple ID]” → “Subscriptions.”
8. Changes to This Policy
We might have to update this policy from time to time, like if the law changes or we add new features. If it’s a big change, we’ll let you know in the app or on this page. You can always find the latest version right here.
